The VW engine is pretty demanding on camshaft material, and based on Techtonics’ research, they insist on using only genuine chill-hardened OEM billet camshafts instead of induction-hardened US billets. Like your original factory camshaft, there are no special break-in lubricants or procedures required with any chill-hardened billet cam that Techtonics sells. A new sport camshaft has the power to transform your motor. Unfortunately, the wrong cam can easily transform your engine from one that runs well and is a pleasure to drive, to an ill-idling, torqueless wonder. Many people are confused by camshafts, and choose a cam that is too radical or poorly suited to their engine. Like their other Techtonics products, they have tested and tested and tested to bring you the best camshafts. No cam really works wonders like adding 200cc of displacement, but it can help breathe life into a motor. We recommend going to a sport exhaust, like the Techtonics Tuned Exhaust, before changing to a Sport
